Texas Hill Country BBQ and Brews Tour

The Texas Hill Country is known for many things: beautiful views, scenic drives, charming towns and BBQ! Add onto that a thriving craft brewery scene, and you've got fun in the making. We visited 12 BBQ joints and craft breweries in 6 small towns. Which ones did we like most?

We would be doing the towns, Texas Hill Country BBQ, and local breweries wrong if we didn't mention: these are certainly not ALL of the great bar-b-que and craft beer brewery options in the Hill Country. These are the ones we were able to visit over a period of about 3 weeks. And every one of them was worth the stop!

Be sure to eat and drink local when you are visiting small town America!

And by the way, how appropriate that the day we are posting this is "National Beer Day"! Happy National Beer Day to all who celebrate! πŸ₯³ If you're interested in keeping track of some of the craft breweries you visit, the Texas Craft Brewers Guild offers the Texas Brewery Passport, a free app for logging your visits to member breweries. We wish there was a way to log all of our visits retroactively! Guess we'll have to go back to all of the breweries we've already visited. Oh darn. LOL

We love the slogans of small businesses. We've included them above when we could find one. We couldn't find a slogan for Ronnie's BBQ in Johnson City, but Tom summed it up pretty well, "Small Place, Big Taste".

Our friends Buddy and Jeanette (who you see with us at The Salt Lick) joined us for Episode 31 of our Podcast to share their travel adventures.
