Hey y'all! Welcome! We're Tom and Stacie Langland, Native Texans and Full Time RVers who are all about exploring America one campground at a time. We're on a mission to experience life, not just live it and we share our travels here on our website. Thanks for stopping by. We're glad you're here.
Our journey to full-time RV life began in 2013 with a 5 year plan. During that five years, we quit buying things we didn't really need and began sorting through our stuff to begin downsizing. It wasn't an easy task, but we eventually sold or gave away everything that wouldn't fit in our Class A motorhome or our Jeep. We moved into our RV full time on November 3, 2018 and began our travel adventures as full time RVers in January 2019.
Like so many other folks, we want to RV in all 50 US states and the Canadian provinces. We really thought that by 5 years into the full-time lifestyle, we would have accomplished that goal. But along the way, we discovered that we enjoy a slower pace of travel, an opportunity to learn something new every day, and to experience what makes each place unique. And you can't really do that with a bunch of one night stays.
We both began RVing as kids back in the 1970s and our love for the outdoors and state parks was something we had in common from the day we met. Over the years, we have owned a 23' bumper pull travel trailer (Prime Time Tracer), a 28' Class A gas motorhome (Fleetwood Storm), a 35' Class A diesel pusher motorhome (Thor Palazzo), and a 31' Class A diesel pusher motorhome (Tiffin Breeze 31BR) that we chose specifically for beginning our full time RV life.
These days you'll find us touring the country in our red, white and blue 2021 Newmar New Aire 3343 named "Freedom". We chose the New Aire for a variety of reasons. The build quality, insulation and customer service provided by Newmar Corp. has been top notch. The size (just under 34' long, 12'3" tall and having shallow slides on both sides) is perfect for us to fit into the maximum number of campsites, yet we have all the comforts of home including a washer/dryer and dishwasher! In the New Aire, we're as much at home in a National Park or State Park as we are in a luxury motorcoach resort! We love the view out of the Class A windshield, and it easily tows our Jeep (named "Adventure").
We've made some modifications to our motorhome to better fit our travels including installing an extreme solar and 48-volt lithium battery system that makes dry camping a breeze. Even though our rig is a 50amp RV, our system allows us to do more on a 30amp connection if that's what is available at the campground. Our battery bank and inverter make up the difference in power. The 48-volt system was a big investment for us, but we're happy that we did it. When a campground loses power, we don't even know it!
We're joined on the road by our dog Star and our cat Astro. They are great travel companions and best buddies. And they were a big reason why we invested in our 48-volt system. We never have to worry about them getting too hot in the motorhome if the park loses power while we are out and about.
From 2013 until 2023, we went by the name RV Texas Y'all. In July of 2023, we launched RV America Y'all. Our journey has continued to grow over the years, and at this point we see no end in sight to our travel adventures. In fact, as we visit with other RVers, travelers and folks we meet, our list of places to visit just keeps getting longer!
So we hope you'll visit this website regularly to learn about Small Town America, Travel Destinations, National Parks, State Parks and those hidden gem Roadside Attractions that add so much to the adventure. Because, as we've learned during our time on the road... The Journey is the Destination!
