Continuing our Colorado Summer Road Trip! This Stop: Frisco CO!
We had no idea that we would enjoy Frisco, Colorado as much as we did. In fact, honestly, we had never even HEARD of Frisco CO before we arrived in the area last August. We were there to visit neighboring Breckenridge and escape the summer heat in the Colorado mountains.
Luckily, our RV resort was located almost perfectly between Breckenridge and Frisco and we had to drive through a piece of Frisco to get there. What we discovered in this former Colorado mining town surprised the heck out of us. It's history and small town charm quickly helped it become one of our favorites amongst all of the towns we have visited!
We absolutely love small town America. One of our favorite things about RV travel is discovering awesome places that we never knew about and Frisco CO definitely makes that list. What we found was a vibrant, friendly, fantastic summer travel destination.
So sit back, relax and join us as we take you along for our first visit to beautiful, historic Frisco, Colorado! (We'll even tell you why Frisco Colorado got its name!)
Frisco / Copper Visitor Information Center
Frisco Historic Park and Museum
GatherHouse Glass Blowing Studio + Gallery
Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters
Just like our visit to neighboring Breckenridge, most of what we did during our visit to Frisco was free!
Be sure to visit the Frisco Historic Park and Museum. This free indoor/outdoor museum provides a great overview and historical stories of Frisco and the people who built it.
Play disc golf at the public Peak One Disc Golf Course at Frisco Adventure Park.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll amongst the restaurants, shops and businesses of picturesque Downtown Frisco.
Get some exercise while you explore this ultra-scenic area by hiking or biking on the many nearby trails and bikeways.
Take a scenic drive! Heck, this whole area is a scenic drive! But there are several scenic loops that come highly recommended in the area including the Copper-Leadville-Minturn Loop.
If you want to get out on the water to explore Dillon Reservoir, watercraft rentals (everything from stand-up paddleboards to kayaks to pontoon boats) are available at the Frisco Bay Marina.
This area has nice bike paths. Visit the Summit County Recreational Pathway System for the details, maps and rules for the local bike and walk paths.
The Frisco / Copper Visitor Center is a great resource for what to see and do in the area. During our visit, they even offered a list of all of the local Happy Hours!
