YES! We're Really Driving Our Class A Motorhome to Alaska

This week, we're Wingin' It! about the biggest and most frequent question we've heard since we announced that we were going to RV to Alaska... Are we really driving our Class A motorhome all the way to Alaska?? Also: Are we nervous about it? What are we doing to prepare?

Since last year, when we announced we were driving to Alaska in 2025, this has been one of the first topics folks have asked us about. We've all heard the stories over the years of bad roads and challenging travel situations + the sheer miles that go into making the trip. So why would we make the trip in our Newmar New Aire? And what are we expecting from the experience? That's the topic of this week's Wingin' It!

Another reason why we are taking our motorhome on our Alaskan adventure... our fur babies! We can't imagine being away from Star and Astro for several months! And they are most comfortable in their home, which of course, is our New Aire. Yes, we are having to book in 2 extra vet appointments during our trip to meet current Alaskan requirements for traveling with pets, but it's 100% worth it to have them with us for the adventure.

Another safety feature that we had installed on our motorhome several years ago is Proteng Fire Detection and Suppression. If something were to go really bad and a fire should start in our motorhome, the system would automatically detect the fire and and put it. This gives us HUGE piece of mind every day.

We also have our Blue Ox Tow Bar serviced on a regular basis to ensure that it is safe and reliable. A lot of folks don't realize that tow bars have a life expectancy and need to be serviced regularly to maintain their durability. Just as we stay on top of the regular maintenance of our motorhome and Jeep, we also have our tow bar regularly serviced by Blue Ox. You can have this done by their teams at rallies across the country.

And for tow braking, we have installed the M & G Brake System on our Jeep. In years of service, the M & G system has never let us down.
