Join us as we visit one of the must-see small towns in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula (UP). We'll dip our toes in Lake Superior, search for waterfalls and discover hidden treasures in Munsing, Michigan.
Munising is one of those hidden gems that we probably would have never visited (or even known about) if we weren't RVers. But Wow! What a place. 3 days was definitely not enough to enjoy all of the fun this region of the UP has to offer. We can't wait to visit Munising again.
Munising surprised us in so many ways. We certainly never expected to find a piece of Texas all the way up here!
And, as we mention in this video, we have more content coming in the next couple of weeks featuring some of the bucketlist things that we enjoyed during our time in Munising. Be sure to check back!
Explore Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Get out on the water with one of the many boat tours that are available! Whether you prefer scenic tours, pontoon tours, historic tours, kayak tours or want to experience an exhilarating ride on a Navy Seal vessel, there's a boat ride (or 2 or 3) for you in Munising! Stay tuned on this topic... more coming soon!
Learn some of the history of Munising, see exhibits and watch a short movie at the Pictured Rocks Interpretive Center located in the heart of town.
Enjoy the views of Lake Superior, Grand Island and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore from the Grand Island Harbor Scenic Turnout.
Eat like a "Yooper" at Muldoons Pasties (pronounced past-e like "last-e")
Grab a coffee or a fruit smoothie at the Rustic Grounds Coffee Company Trailer, located at 319 East Superior Street.
Search for the historic Face in the Rock on the beach at the Scott Falls Roadside Park just up the road at Au Train, Michigan.

Take in a Lake Superior sunset.
Visit the Duck Pond Eatery for great food, local craft beers and ciders in a fun, laid back environment in Christmas.
For more outdoor fun, check out the nearby Hiawatha National Forest or take a boat over to the Grand Island National Recreation Area.

Munising is the Snowmobiling Capital of the Midwest. If you love Winter sports, Munising might just be the place to be for ice caves, ice climbing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
For tons of green foliage, waterfalls, hiking and to dip your toes in Lake Superior, visit Munising during the Summer. As with all of the Upper Peninsula, this is a very popular Summer destination. (The weather is AWESOME that time of year.) Plan ahead to make sure you are able to stay where you want, when you want, and for as long as you want.
For FREE adventures: be sure to take in the museum at the Pictured Rocks Interpretive Center and go for a drive to look for waterfalls and enjoy the scenic overlooks.
If you're short on time, it is possible to enjoy both the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Cruise and the Glass Bottom Boat Shipwreck Tour on the same day. (We did!)
If you plan to visit more of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore by land, be sure to ask for a park map at the Munising Visitor Center. As we mention in the video, the roads were not well marked during our visit and our GPS kept changing its mind.
Don't forget your National Parks Passport Book to get your stamp at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
For more local information including hiking and waterfalls maps, visit the Fuzzy Boyak Welcome Center, 129 East Munising Avenue in Munising.
